I’ve never purchased anything online before. What kind of payments do you accept? Will my information be safe?

Your information is absolutely safe when you order online from us. Our web store has an SSL certificate that uses industry standard 128 bit encryption technology, this is the same level of encryption used by large banks to keep your information secure. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal. PayPal is a secure payment option, which prides itself on being “the safer, easier way to pay”. You can read about PayPal’s safety guarantees here.

How do I know what size to order?

You can find our size chart here. We get that clothes aren’t always an exact science. If something that you’ve ordered doesn’t fit quite the way you would like, please contact us for instructions on how to exchange for the size that best suits your body!

Do you offer hemming or alterations?

We offer complimentary hemming on all Public Myth pants and leggings! Simply request your desired inseam length in the notes at checkout for a free alteration. Or, you can visit our Vancouver showroom to have your pants measured and hemmed in person. Please note that sale items are excluded and that we cannot issue any refunds or exchanges on altered garments.

I really liked something that I saw but it says “SOLD OUT”… what does this mean?

Sometimes this simply means that the item was such a big hit and were all sold before we could make more. If this is the case, we plan to restock the item as soon as possible. However, we often discontinue items that we feel have run their course and will no longer be producing these items. A good way to know if that is the case is if the item is on sale. In that case, we will remove the item from our web store when all of the sizes have been sold out. If you see a sold out item that you'd like to see restocked, let us know! We'll add you to our "notify me" list for any potential restocks. You can also stay in the loop about our newest additions and restocks by  subscribing to our email list, “liking” us on Facebook, and following us on Instagram.

Why is my promotional code not working?

Occasionally Public Myth will offer promotional discounts via the use of temporary codes. If you feel your code has expired prematurely, please contact our customer care team by email. Public Myth reserves the right to discontinue promotional codes at any time. Submitting Public Myth discount codes to third party coupon-sharing websites, sharing codes in broadcast email campaigns or posting these codes on any third party online platform, without expressed permission of Public Myth, will result in immediate discontinuance of the code.

I get a “gateway error” error message when I try to checkout online… what should I do?

If you are using an American Express or Discover card, please be advised that you’ll need to checkout through the PayPal option in order to use these. All other inquiries about this error must be directed to your banking institute, as the error message is coming from something that is happening on their side (ie: declined card; security breach; systems down; etc.)

Can I cancel/change my order after I’ve paid for it?

As we like to pack and ship our orders as soon as they come in (sometimes shipping within minutes of receiving the order), it is imperative that you contact us as soon as you realize that a change needs to be made. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your request after your order has been placed.

Can I add something to my order after I’ve paid for it?

If you decide to place a second order, you may be able to get your additional items packed in together and save on shipping. Any orders placed on the same shipping day, by the same customer, going to the same address, will be shipped together. Make sure to act quickly, we will be shipping out your original order as soon as possible.

Here’s what you do:

1. place ANOTHER order through our website (pay for your items and the shipping, as usual)
2. Attach a “note” in your second order, explaining that this is your second order for the day and you would like your items shipped together
3. When we process your second order, we will refund you the cost of your shipping.

What kind of shipping options do you offer?

Click here to see Public Myth's shipping rates. We offer FREE Standard Shipping to Canada on all orders over $100. Make sure to look at your total before checking out, you may be a few dollars away from free shipping. One more tank top might just put you over the top! You can also upgrade your Free Standard Shipping to Express Shipping for an additional fee.

How long will it take for my order to be fulfilled?

Here at Public Myth we pride ourselves on being quick & efficient in all of our business dealings. We will have your order packed and shipped the same day, as long as you have your order in before 1:00pm (PST). For all orders placed after the cut-off, they will be processed first thing the next morning and shipped out in the afternoon.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

How do I track my order?

Once we pack and ship your order, we will email you a tracking number. This allows you to track your order via UPS or Canada Post, depending on which service you received.

It’s been over a week and my order hasn’t arrived. What should I do?

First, make sure you track your package using the tracking number we provided via email. You can track your package via UPS or Canada Post, depending on which service you received. If your order shows that it is still in the hands of the courier or has been delivered by them (but did not make it into your hands), you can contact them directly. Make sure to have your tracking number handy, they will need it in order to be able to help you out. If you've reached out to the courier and still need help, you can contact us and we will do our best to help.

Where is my receipt?

At Public Myth we are committed to minimal packaging and use recycled/recyclable materials wherever possible. To save a few extra trees, we have opted for email-receipts, which can be found in your email inbox. If you can’t seem to find it, please feel free to contact us (with your full name and order number) and we will resend it to you!

I received a damaged/defective/incorrect item. What should I do?

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, mistakes do happen from time to time. All claims for damaged/defective/incorrect merchandise must be made within 7 days of the package being received. If you receive one of these items, reply to the email invoice that we initially sent you, explain the situation, and ask for an exchange. Please note that sending photos of the issue is very helpful in speeding up the process! Once your return is received, we will send you an email notifying you that we've received your returned item. We will then ship you the repaired/correct item.

How can I receive my exchange faster?

All exchanges are processed within 1-2 business days from when they're received at Public Myth. If you are in need of your exchange quicker than our traditional turn around time, you may want to consider placing a new order for the item you need. The best way to do this is by letting us know your plan, we will then know to refund your original order and will refund shipping on qualifying orders. Contact us by replying to your order confirmation email or email us directly at customercare@publicmyth.com to obtain your instructions. When placing your new order, make sure you select the shipping method that will ensure delivery in the time frame you need.

Can I return a sale item if it doesn’t fit or if I change my mind?

Unfortunately, no. All of our sale items are final sales.

How do you suggest that I wash my garments?

We recommend washing all of our items in cold water and hanging to dry.

Will your items shrink?

Failure to follow our care instructions may cause shrinkage in your garments.

I was hoping to purchase a gift voucher… How do I do this?

Where is your clothing designed and manufactured?

All of our products are designed and sewn in Vancouver, BC Canada

What if I entered my shipping information incorrectly or missing information?

Public Myth ships all orders to the shipping address provided by the customer. If the customer does not properly input the shipping address before completing the order, Public Myth must be immediately contacted. If we are not notified within an hour it is highly unlikely the correction can be made. If the package has already shipped, we will go over our options to help get your package on the right track. Public Myth is not responsible for any additional charges needed to reship or retrieve a package. Public Myth is not responsible for any lost packages due to incorrectly provided addresses. If your package is returned to Public Myth, there is a standard $9.00 fee to have the package reshipped with basic service. You can upgrade to other shipping methods for additional fees. If a customer no longer wants to receive the package after submitting incorrect information, Public Myth will only refund the merchandise charges when the package is returned to Public Myth. The shipping charge fees will not be refunded.

How do I share my photos/videos of myself wearing your clothing on Instagram?

Post the photo/video to your own Instagram and then tag us directly in the post (using @publicmyth @publicmythlife @publicmythvancouver). Then go ahead and hashtag #publicmyth and #publicmythlife in the caption of your post. We also love seeing your Instagram Stories!
